Welcome again.Currently our department includes seven tenure/tenure track facility, five adjunct professors from the business and economic community, and our staff - a webmaster, work study, and administrativeassistant.We pride ourselves in student welfare and are student-centered first.We see almost every student at Missouri S&T at some point in our classes and that is important to us.We work with local economic development; undertake meaningful research in sports, microfinance, finance and investments, game theory, and work place behavior.We are a friendly place and look forward to having you join us.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Department of Economics and Finance at the Missouri University of Science and Technology is to provide quality education to our students.Our expectation is that students with degrees from the department will have an excellent education, preparing them for graduate school or career opportunities across the spectrum of business, finance, the study of the law, government, and public policy.In addition, the department includes a program that serves students who have a career objective of secondary teaching. Courses are taught rigorously, and are technologically orientated in keeping with the missions of the university.The educational experience of our students is distinguished by personal attention and guidance for students; a commitment to quality education with continuous improvement; as well as an emphasis on teamwork, information resources, and the link between economics, business and technology.Faculty are expected to emphaze quality teaching and the development of excellence in teaching methods, while maintaining a strong commitment to research and professional service which includes local, regional, and state; private and governmental organizations.
